Delete your Ocio account
You can delete your Ocio account, and the personal data linked to it, at any time. Ocio is run by OCIO LIMITED (Companies House 17214462).
In the app
- Open Ocio and go to Settings, then Account.
- At the foot of the page, tap Close account.
- Follow the steps on that screen: you will be asked to type CLOSE to confirm.
Your account is deleted straight away and you are signed out. This cannot be undone.
Without the app
You do not need to reinstall Ocio. Email privacy@ocio.events from the email address on your Ocio account, with the subject “Delete my Ocio account”. We will confirm it is you and delete the account within one month, as UK data protection law requires, and let you know when it is done.
What is deleted
- Your profile, your sign-in and your email address.
- Your tastes and preferences, saved events, reviews, check-ins and credits.
- Your one-to-one chats, including the photos, voice notes and documents in them.
- Photos you added to events.
- Any active membership is cancelled first, so you are not charged again.
Your account goes at once. Files left in storage are cleared by our daily clean-up, and everything is gone within 30 days.
What we keep, and why
- Records of bookings you made, with your name removed, so the venues' statements still add up.
- Payment and invoice records held by our payment provider, Stripe, for six years, because UK law requires businesses to keep financial records.
- Photos and messages you shared in a group chat for a night out can stay with that group, because they are part of the other members' record of the night too.
