Membership Terms

Last updated: 20 October 2026 · Version 1.2

These terms set out the agreement between you and Ocio Limited when you open an Ocio account or become an Ocio member. Please read them carefully. When you join, you will be asked to confirm that you accept them.

If you opened your Ocio account before 6 October 2026, these terms replace our previous Terms of Use for you on 1 December 2026. Until then, the previous terms apply, and you can read them at ocio.events/terms/previous.

These terms work alongside:

  • the cancellation policy shown on each event listing, which applies when you cancel a booking; and
  • the Ocio Privacy Policy, which explains how we use your personal information.

Key points

  • Ocio is a monthly membership. You pay each month and receive credits to spend on events.
  • Unused monthly credits roll over for one extra month, so you can hold up to twice your plan’s monthly allocation. Credits you are given, buy or are gifted never expire.
  • Credits have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money, except where these terms or the law say otherwise.
  • You can cancel your membership at any time in the app. It ends at the end of the month you have paid for. You keep the credits you hold.
  • Each event has its own cancellation policy, shown before you book.
  • If a partner cancels an event, your credits are returned in full automatically.
  • Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

1. Definitions

In these terms:

  • Ocio, we, us and our mean Ocio Limited, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17214462, whose registered office is at 78 Chislehurst Road, Orpington, BR6 0DJ.
  • You means the individual who holds an Ocio account.
  • Member means you while you hold a paid Ocio membership. Sections 4, 5, 10, 11 and 12 apply only to members.
  • App means the Ocio mobile app and the Ocio web app.
  • Partner means an independent business that runs events listed in the App.
  • Event means an experience run by a Partner and listed in the App.
  • Booking means a place at an Event reserved through the App using credits.
  • Credits means the units added to your account and used to make Bookings.
  • Monthly credits means the credits your plan adds to your account each month.
  • Billing date means the date each month on which your membership fee is taken.

2. Eligibility and your account

2.1 You must be 18 or over and live in the UK to open an account or become a member.

2.2 You may hold only one Ocio account. Your account is personal to you and cannot be shared, sold or transferred.

2.3 You must give us accurate information and keep it up to date.

2.4 You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity on your account. Tell us straight away at hello@ocio.events if you think someone else has accessed it.

3. Ocio’s role

3.1 Ocio provides the membership, the App, the credit system and the booking service.

3.2 Events are run by Partners, not by Ocio. When you make a Booking, Ocio arranges it on the Partner’s behalf. The Partner is responsible for delivering the Event, for the venue, and for the safety and conduct of its own staff.

3.3 Partners may have their own venue rules, such as age limits, dress codes, admission times and safety requirements. These are shown on the event listing where provided, and you must follow them.

3.4 We select Partners carefully, but we do not control how a Partner runs its Event. Your rights if something goes wrong are set out in sections 9 and 16.

4. Membership plans and billing

4.1 Our current plans are:

PlanMonthly priceCredits each month
Explorer£4238
Adventurer£6760
Pioneer£9283

4.2 Prices include VAT where it applies.

4.3 Your membership is a rolling monthly subscription. You pay in advance on your first billing date and then on the same date each month until you cancel.

4.4 Payments are taken by card through our payment provider, Stripe. By joining, you authorise us to charge your card each month without asking you each time.

4.5 If a payment fails, we will let you know and our payment provider will try again over the following days. Until the payment goes through, no new monthly credits are added, but you can still use the credits you hold and your Bookings are kept. If the payment still cannot be taken, we may end your membership.

5. Your 14-day cooling-off right

5.1 When you join, you have 14 days to change your mind and cancel your membership. Email hello@ocio.events or cancel in the App.

5.2 By joining, you ask us to start your membership straight away, so you can use your credits during the cooling-off period.

5.3 If you cancel within the 14 days, we will refund your first payment, less the value of any monthly credits you have already used for Bookings (welcome, promo code, referral, bought and gifted credits are not counted). Each credit used is valued at £1.11 (the price of one credit, based on 0.9 credits for every £1). We will refund you within 14 days of your cancellation, to the card you paid with.

5.4 Individual Bookings are not covered by the cooling-off right. A Booking is a leisure service on a specific date, so the cancellation policy for that Event applies instead (see section 8).

5.5 The cooling-off right applies when you first join, and again if you rejoin after your membership has ended. It does not apply to monthly renewals.

6. Credits

6.1 How credits are added. Your plan’s monthly credits are added to your account on each billing date once your payment has gone through.

6.2 What credits are worth. Credits are issued at 0.9 credits for every £1. Each Event shows its price in credits before you book.

6.3 Rollover. Monthly credits you do not use in the month they are added roll over for one further month: each month’s credits last for 60 days from the day they are added, and then expire. On each billing date you can carry forward up to one month’s allocation of monthly credits; any more than that expire. This means you can hold up to twice your plan’s monthly allocation in monthly credits at any time. For example, an Adventurer member can hold up to 120 monthly credits. Credits you are given, buy or are gifted are on top of this limit and never expire.

6.4 Which credits are used first. When you book, we use your oldest credits first. Credits you bought or were gifted (see 6.5) are always used last.

6.5 Bought and gifted credits. You can buy extra credits at any time, with or without a membership, at the same rate of 0.9 credits for every £1, from 5 to 200 credits at a time. The price is shown before you pay. You can also buy credits as a gift: you receive a gift code that can be redeemed once, into any Ocio account. Credits you buy or are gifted never expire. A gift code works like cash: anyone who has it can redeem it, so keep it safe. If you change your mind, you can cancel a purchase within 14 days of buying it and we will refund it in full, as long as the credits have not been used or the gift code has not been redeemed.

6.6 No cash value. Credits are not money. They cannot be exchanged for cash, refunded, sold or transferred to anyone else, except where these terms or the law say otherwise.

6.7 Promo code, referral and promotional credits.

  • If you start a paid membership with a valid Ocio promo code, such as OCIOFIRST or a code from one of our event partners, you receive the credits stated with the code in the App, currently 9 credits (worth £10). They are added once your first membership payment has been taken. Enter the code in the App when you choose your membership.
  • You can use one promo code only, once, however many accounts you open. A promo code cannot be combined with another promo code or with a discount code entered at checkout, and cannot be used if you have already received welcome credits or used a discount code on an Ocio membership. A Feedback Reward (ocio.events/terms/feedback-reward) is separate and can still apply.
  • When a friend you refer joins Ocio, you receive the referral credits stated in the App at that time, currently 9 credits (worth £10). Until 30 November 2026, they are added when your friend signs up and confirms their email. From 1 December 2026, they are added when your friend’s first paid membership starts. Sometimes we hold referral credits for a short check before adding them.
  • Promo code, welcome, referral and other promotional credits do not expire, and you can use them with or without a membership. Welcome credits were given to accounts opened on or before 20 October 2026; new accounts do not receive them.
  • Opening more than one account, or referring yourself, to collect promotional credits is not allowed. We check for this automatically and may refuse, hold or cancel the promotional credits involved. In serious cases we may also close the accounts under section 15.
  • Promotional credits have no cash value and are never refunded.

6.8 When your membership ends. If your membership ends, you keep the credits you hold and can still use them to book. Monthly credits still expire 60 days after they were added (see 6.3); credits you were given, bought or were gifted do not expire.

6.9 Mistakes. If credits are added to your account by mistake, we may remove them. We will tell you if we do.

7. Bookings

7.1 Each event listing shows the date, time, location, price in credits, cancellation policy and any venue rules. Please check these before you book.

7.2 A Booking is confirmed when it appears in your account and you receive a confirmation from us. If something goes wrong and a Booking cannot be confirmed, your credits are not taken, or are returned to you automatically, usually within 15 minutes.

7.3 You can book up to six places in one Booking, for yourself and people you bring. You are responsible for your guests, including making sure they meet any age or other requirements for the Event and follow the venue’s rules.

7.4 Please arrive on time. Partners may refuse entry to late arrivals, so check the start time and any admission details on the listing.

7.5 Partners may refuse entry or ask anyone to leave who is unsafe, abusive or breaking the venue’s rules. If that happens, you will not get your credits back.

8. Cancelling a Booking

8.1 Each Event has its own cancellation policy, shown on the listing before you book. That policy applies if you cancel, reschedule or do not attend.

8.2 Many Partners use the Ocio Standard Cancellation Policy. In summary, under that policy:

  • if you cancel more than 48 hours before the Event starts, all your credits are returned;
  • if you cancel between 48 and 24 hours before, half your credits are returned (rounded up);
  • if you cancel less than 24 hours before, your credits are not returned; you can ask to move to another date for the same Event, but the Partner does not have to agree; and
  • if you do not attend and have not cancelled, your credits are not returned.

The full policy is available from the event listing and applies in place of this summary.

8.3 You must cancel through the App. If the App is unavailable, email hello@ocio.events before the Event starts.

8.4 Credits returned after a cancellation are added back to your account and last for at least 60 days from the day they are returned.

9. If a Partner cancels or changes an Event

9.1 If a Partner cancels an Event, all credits used for the Booking are returned to your account automatically and in full.

9.2 If a Partner makes a significant change to an Event, such as changing the date, start time, venue or main performer, you can either keep your Booking or cancel it and have all your credits returned in full, whatever the normal cancellation policy says. To cancel for this reason, email hello@ocio.events before the Event starts. If we learn of a significant change, we will tell you.

9.3 Credits returned under this section are added back to your account and last for at least 60 days from the day they are returned.

9.4 If you paid for the credits you used and the Event did not take place or was not provided as described, you may also have rights against us or the Partner under consumer law. Section 16 explains these.

10. Changing your plan

10.1 Upgrading. If you move to a higher plan, your plan changes straight away, but nothing extra is charged for the rest of your current billing month and no extra credits are added for it. From your next billing date you pay the new price, and your new plan’s monthly credits are added then. If you need more credits before that, you can buy them (see 6.5).

10.2 Downgrading. If you move to a lower plan, nothing is refunded for the rest of your current billing month, and the credits you hold are not affected and keep their normal expiry dates. From your next billing date you pay the lower price and receive the lower plan’s monthly credits.

11. Cancelling your membership

11.1 You can cancel at any time in the App.

11.2 Your membership ends at the end of the month you have already paid for. You will not be charged again, and you keep the credits you hold, including after your membership ends (see 6.8).

11.3 We do not refund part-used months, except under your cooling-off right in section 5 or where the law requires.

11.4 Bookings for Events after your membership ends remain valid unless you cancel them under the Event’s cancellation policy.

11.5 If you rejoin later, you start a new membership. Any credits you still hold stay in your account; credits that have expired are not restored.

12. Price changes

12.1 We may change our membership prices. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email and in the App before a new price applies to you.

12.2 If you do not want to pay the new price, you can cancel before it takes effect and you will not be charged at the new price.

12.3 Credit prices for individual Events are set when the Event is listed. Changes to an Event’s price never affect a Booking you have already made.

13. Faro, OcioConnect and OcioTempo

13.1 Faro. Faro is our AI-powered recommendation feature. It suggests Events based on your preferences and activity. Recommendations are suggestions only: Faro can make mistakes, so always check the event listing before you book. Faro’s suggestions do not change these terms or any Event’s cancellation policy.

13.2 OcioConnect. OcioConnect lets you create a profile and connect with other members who share your interests. It is switched on when you join, and you can switch it off at any time in your account settings (Meeting new members). If you use it, you must follow the rules in section 14. Other members are not checked or vetted by Ocio, so take care when meeting anyone: meet in a public place, tell a friend where you are going, and report anyone who makes you feel unsafe, in the App or at hello@ocio.events.

13.3 OcioTempo. OcioTempo lets you tell Faro how you feel that day, on a scale from chilled to buzzing, and the App adjusts the Events it shows you to match your energy. Using it is optional.

13.4 Some features ask for access to your location, calendar, camera, microphone, photos or notifications. This is always optional and you can turn it off in your device settings. The Privacy Policy explains how we use this information.

14. Your conduct

When using Ocio, the App and Events, you must not:

  • break the law or help anyone else to do so;
  • harass, threaten, abuse or discriminate against anyone, including other members, Partners and their staff;
  • send or post anything illegal, sexually explicit, violent, hateful or threatening, or anything that sexualises children;
  • give false information, impersonate anyone or hold more than one account;
  • resell, transfer or advertise Bookings or credits;
  • misuse promotions, referrals or the cancellation process;
  • interfere with the App, try to access it in ways we have not allowed, or copy, scrape or reverse engineer it; or
  • use Ocio to advertise or sell anything.

15. Suspension and removal

15.1 OcioConnect only. If you break section 14 while using OcioConnect, we may warn you, suspend you from OcioConnect or remove you from it permanently. This does not affect your Ocio membership, your credits or your Bookings.

15.2 Removal from Ocio. As a last resort, we may end your membership and close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, for example through violence or threats at an Event, serious harassment, fraud, payment abuse, or opening duplicate accounts to collect promotional credits. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why.

15.3 What happens to your credits. If we remove you under 15.2:

  • your membership ends straight away and you will not be charged again;
  • we will refund the value of any unused credits you paid for, at £1.11 per credit, to the card you paid with, within 14 days;
  • promotional and referral credits are cancelled and not refunded;
  • we may deduct from the refund any genuine loss you caused, such as a chargeback or damage at a Partner’s venue; and
  • your upcoming Bookings are cancelled, and the credits used for them are included in the refund.

15.4 Temporary suspension. While we look into a serious concern, we may suspend your account for up to 14 days. Your billing will be paused during any suspension.

15.5 If you think we have made a mistake, email hello@ocio.events and we will review our decision.

15.6 If you are removed from Ocio, you must not open a new account.

16. Our responsibility to you

16.1 We will provide the membership and the App with reasonable care and skill. If we do not, contact us and we will try to put it right. Where we cannot, you may be entitled to a refund of credits or money for the affected part of the service.

16.2 We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable when you joined.

16.3 Partners are responsible for running their Events. We are not responsible for a Partner’s acts or omissions, or for things that happen at an Event that are within the Partner’s control, but we will help you raise a complaint with the Partner and will return credits where section 9 applies.

16.4 Ocio is for personal use. We are not responsible for any business losses, such as loss of profit or business opportunity.

16.5 Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited or excluded, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

17. Availability of the service

17.1 We work to keep the App available and working properly, but it may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or because of problems outside our control.

17.2 We may change or improve the App and its features. If we make a change that significantly reduces what your membership gives you, we will tell you in advance and you can cancel before the change applies.

17.3 If we ever close the Ocio service, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice and refund the value of any unused credits you paid for.

18. The App and our intellectual property

18.1 We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the App for as long as you have an Ocio account, in line with these terms.

18.2 Ocio, Faro, OcioConnect, OcioTempo, the App and its content belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy or use them except as these terms allow.

18.3 You keep ownership of anything you add to the App, such as profile photos. You give us permission to use it to run Ocio, for example to show your OcioConnect profile to other members. If you post a review, photo or video publicly in the App, you also allow us to use it, with or without your first name, to promote Ocio, for example on our website and social media. You can ask us to stop at any time by emailing hello@ocio.events.

19. Changes to these terms

19.1 We may update these terms, for example to reflect changes in the law or in how Ocio works.

19.2 For significant changes, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email and in the App. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the changes take effect. Minor changes that do not affect your rights, such as corrections, may take effect straight away.

20. Complaints and the law

20.1 If you have a complaint, please email hello@ocio.events. We aim to reply within 5 working days.

20.2 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in the courts where you live.

20.3 If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

20.4 These terms are between you and us. No one else has rights under them.
